Obituary of George K. Dickinson

George K. Dickinson, 74, of Fairfield Twp. passed away at his home on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Born in Bridgeton to the late George H. Dickinson Jr. and Ursalee Wright Dickinson, he had been a resident of Fairfield Twp. all of his life. George enlisted in the United States Air Force right after graduating high school and he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant He served his country for just under 7 years as a jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War. George had retired from Leones Glass in Bridgeton as a supervisor. In his free time he enjoyed working on cars, golfing and fishing. George also loved animals and motorcycles. His favorite song was “Paint it, Black” by the Rolling Stones. He is survived by; his sons, Daryll Dickinson (Eileen), Dennis Dickinson (Janice) and Robert Dickinson (Veronica); his sister, Diane West; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his parents, George and Ursalee Dickinson; his brother, James Dickinson; and his son, George K. Dickinson Jr. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Tuesday, March 26th at 11AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10AM to 11AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Trench Road, Hopewell Twp. following the funeral service.
