Obituary of Florence L. Sooy

Florence “Flossie” Lynn Sooy (Fisher) 70, of Fairton NJ, passed away suddenly after a brief illness at Inspira Medical Center Vineland on April 11, 2024. Flossie is predeceased by her father, Harry Fisher. She is survived by her mother, Geraldine “Sherry” Riley, her son Larry Sooy Jr. and partner Dennis, her daughter Sherrie Coombs and husband Artie, her grandson Ethan Coombs, her sisters Rhoda Fisher and Gertrude “Trucy” Sedeyn, and her beloved dog, Luckie. Flossie grew up and lived in Fairton her entire life. She worked as a bus operator for over 40 years, 25 of those with NJ Transit in Egg Harbor Township. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, playing golf, riding motorcycles, and rooting for the Phillies and NY Giants. She also enjoyed attending local car shows where she would proudly display her treasured ’64 Impala and ’69 Chevelle. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19th at 11:00 AM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. A visitation will take place on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Donations in Flossie’s memory may be made to the Fairton United Methodist Church, 20 Main Street, Bridgeton.
