Obituary of Raymond Miller, Sr.

Born in Fairfield Township on April 8th, 1926 to the late John Miller and Ella Ott Miller; he was the husband of the late Georgia L. Allen Miller. He had been a resident of Shiloh Borough from 2006-2010 prior to moving to the Veteran's Memorial Home. Before that, he had lived in Hopewell Township. Prior to his retirement in 1988, Raymond had been employed as a Union Plumber with Local 322, Winslow Township for over 50 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in the European Theater. Raymond was a former member of the Eagles Airy in Bridgeton and V.F.W. Post 1795, Mead-Woodward. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and he loved to dance. He is survived by; two daughter, Thelma Welden of Shiloh and Cathy Douglas of Vineland; a son Raymond Miller, Jr. of Millville, a sister, Evelyn Gandy of Bridgeton; two grandchildren, Holly Reed and Marshall Welden, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Hailey Welden, Meagan Welden, Joshua Reed, Jr. and Rachel Reed and four step-children, Jean Reyes of Bridgeton, Jack Allen of Missouri, Loretta Borgese of Vineland and Darlene Hasher of Hopewell Township. Besides his wife, Georgia Miller, he was preceded in death by; five brothers, Wilbert Miller, Glendon Miller, Howard Miller, John Miller and his twin, Robert Miller and five sisters, Mable Zimmerman, Pauline Hanby, Thelma Hoefner, Myrtle Cossaboon and Naomi Tomlinson. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Thursday, March 28th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
