Obituary of Wayne Andrew Wells

Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wayne Andrew Wells (better known as Fritz) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Born on June 4, 1937, he was the second of five children born to lda & Harry Wells, Sr. He was blessed to see 87 years of life. Whenever anyone is asked what they remember most about him, two things are stated without hesitation: his kind heart and his beautiful smile. Wayne attended Bridgeton Public Schools and immediately upon graduation joined the United States Army. He served in the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" Division of Fort Benning, Georgia and was proudly, at the age of 18, a Paratrooper, yes, he literally jumped out of airplanes! Upon returning to civilian life, he held many jobs in South Jersey before building Mahogany Interior Renovation and Decorating with his partner. This business thrived for many years and was located in Jersey City, New Jersey. Fritz loved a good road trip, the ocean and music, especially Patti LaBelle and Diana Ross! He loved his westerns (The Rifle Man and Bonanza just to name a few). His favorite treats included apple pie, Tasty Kakes, chicken of all forms and most of all, jelly beans! Wayne was preceded in death by; his parents, lda (Pierce) & Harry Wells, Sr., brother Carl (Clemmy)Wells, sister Leona (Sissy-Wells) Tyson, nephew Ronald (Ronnie) Wells, Daughter in Love, Tina Tucker and firstborn granddaughter Brandi (Wells) Stewart. Wayne is survived by; siblings Harry (Bunky) Wells, Jr.(Carol) of Bridgeton, NJ and Lillian (Wells) Rodriguez (Wilson) of Vineland, NJ. He leaves to cherish his memory, life time companion Dennis Wallace of Bridgeton, NJ; daughters Barbara (Prinny) Wells-Forman (Willie) of Bridgeton, NJ, Tracey Wells-Huggins (Jason) of Vineland, NJ and special Daughters in Love, Oşhea Wallace of Bridgeton, NJ and Rosemary Miller-Green (Jeffrey)of Cameron, NC. He will lovingly live on through all the memories created with everyone who cared so much about him including his 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. -Lovingly Submitted by the Family Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 12 NOON.
