Obituary of Bernard J. Griedus III

Bernard “Barney” J. Griedus, III, 71, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at his home. Born in Bridgeton to the late Bernard J. Griedus, Jr. and Virginia M. Cook Griedus, he was the husband of Janet A. Hitchner Griedus. Barney was a lifetime resident of the Bridgeton area. Barney had been a bus driver with Sheppard's Bus Service since 2001. Prior to that he had worked for Wheaton Worldwide, Mulford Buick and Gallo GMC. He loved his job as a school bus driver and working on cars. He also loved tools of all kinds and was very handy in fixing things. He often took on electrical projects which were his favorite. He is survived by; his wife, Janet Griedus of Upper Deerfield Twp.; his sister, Patricia Fadio of NY; his stepsons, Victor Hamidy of Bridgeton and Matthew Hamidy (Devin) of Bridgeton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard, Jr. and Virgina M. Griedus. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, September 20th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
