Obituary of Tommy I. Grooms

Tommy I. Grooms, 71, of Robins, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 under the care of Hospice and his family. Born in Bridgeton to the late Garland Grooms and Bebee Hall Grooms, he was the husband of the late Evelyn Walls Grooms. Tommy had resided in North Carolina since 1997, prior to that he had lived in Glassboro and Millville. Before retirement, he had worked for Aura Orchards for 10 years, Our Way Towing in Vineland for 2 years, Norma-Jets Autobody for 8 years, Wheaton Industries in Millville for 4 years and April Bros. Orchard. In his free time, Tommy enjoyed woodworking, fishing and RV Camping. He is survived by; his sister, Dolores Franklin (Dennis) of Millville; his nieces, Lori Anne Lockman of Carthidge, NC, Michelle Harris of Carthidge, NC, Barbie Grooms of Robbins, NC and Betty Sue Huff of Fairton; and his nephew, John Grooms of Robbins, NC. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Evelyn Walls Grooms, his brother, John Grooms, Sr. and his sister, Ella Brown. A visitation will be held at the PADGET FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, September 24th from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Graveside services will follow at Centerton Free Will Baptist Cemetery, 110 Dealtown Rd., Elmer, NJ 08318.
