Anthony William DeVol, 27, of Cedarville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Bridgeton to Franklin “Frank” DeVol, Jr. and Vanessa Kuhn Sorantino, Anthony was a resident of Cedarville for a large part of his life. He had also resided in California for several years as he perfected his craft of fine dining. Anthony worked as a chef at many different fine dining establishments in California including; Plant Food and Wine in Venice Beach, CA, Wolf Dining in Los Angeles, CA and Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, CA. Anthony played football at Cumberland Regional High School on both defense and offense where he played Defensive End and Linebacker and several other positions. While playing at CRHS he became very close with his coach the late Tom Lake who served as a mentor to him even after his football playing days were over. Anthony was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. In his free time, he loved music festivals, hiking, biking, surfing and just enjoying the great outdoors. He also loved to take road trips and had driven across country with his Dad on several occasions. One of his favorite places to visit was Joshua Tree National Park. Anthony was a huge fan of The Doors and even had an opportunity to visit Jim Morrison's Memorial in CA while living there. He loved to spend time with his family especially during the yearly trips to Wildwood and the beach he cherished throughout his life. Anthony's family described him as a man with a big heart and a passion for helping others in need. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by; his mother, Vanessa Sorantino and her husband, Joe of Cedarville; his father, Franklin “Frank” DeVol, Jr. of Cedarville; two brothers, Jan Albertson (Collene) of Cedarville and Franklin “Frankie” DeVol, III of Bridgeton; his nephew, Joey Albertson; his niece, Briana Albertson; his uncle, Rob DeVol of Cedarville and a host of cousins, other family members and countless friends. He was preceded in death by; his maternal grandfather and best buddy, William Kuhn, Jr. and his paternal grandparents, Franklin DeVol, Sr. and Helen DeVol. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, September 21st at 11 AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening September 20th from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
