Obituary of David L. Bown

David L. Bown, age 95, of Newport died Thursday, May 9, 2013 under the care of Hospice at the home of his daughter and son in law, Patricia Frank and Rev. Al Frank in Elizabethtown, PA where he had been residing during recent illness. Born in Barr Twp., Illinois on November 1, 1917 he was the son of the late Albert Bown and Carrie Fullington Bown and the husband of the late Kathryn Sheppard Bown. He had been a Newport resident for 61 years and had lived in Fairfield Twp. prior to that. A self employed farmer most of his working life, Mr. Bown had owned and operated the Bown Farm in Newport for over 50 years. In addition to his daughter, Patricia and her twin brother, Patrick Bown (Merry) of Alexandria, VA he is survived by sons, Walter Bown (Nancy) of Millville and Raymond Bown (Judith) of Newport; a nephew, Edwin Bown, Jr. (Shirley) whom he raised of Millville, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Wednesday, May 15th at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
