Obituary of Josephine Sayres

Josephine Sayres, 83, of Pittsgrove Twp., passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Inspira Healthcare-Elmer following an extended illness. Born in Hartford, TN to the late Louis Anderson Sutton and Nora Sisk Sutton she was the wife of the late Loren Franklin Sayres. She moved from her native Tennessee to Pittsgrove Twp. in 1946 where she resided for most of her life. Prior to her retirement in 2002, Josephine had worked in the Housekeeping Dept. at the Vineland Developmental Center for 25 years. Prior to that she had worked on the family farm with her late husband. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and caring for her family in the home. Surviving are her daughter, Arlene Sayres of Pittsgrove; two brothers, Jim Sutton of Pittsgrove and Hobart Sutton of Vineland; a sister, Jerri Sabella of Vineland and several nieces, nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Sayres in 1992 and a brother, Labe Sutton. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.
