William A. Ridgeway, Sr., 68, of Bridgeton died unexpectedly on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at his home. Born in Bridgeton on November 29, 1944 to the late James Ridgeway and Margaret Sammons Ridgeway, he was the husband of Hester Pierce Ridgeway. He had been a lifetime resident of Bridgeton. Prior to his retirement, William had worked at Leone Industries for over 35 years as a fork lift operator. He was an avid baseball player and a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. In addition to his wife Hester, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa Ridgeway of Bridgeton, Providence Ridgeway of Millville and Hester Ridgeway of Bridgeton; a son, William A. Ridgeway, Jr. and his wife Alma of Bridgeton; two brothers, Eugene Sammons of Bridgeton and Eddie Hands and his wife Ruth of Fairton; two sisters, Bernice Pierce and her husband Kenny of Bridgeton and Connie Hands-Pierce of Shiloh; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his step-father, James Hands, two brothers James Ridgeway and Arthur Sammons Ridgeway and one grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at Glory Tabernacle, 1018 Buckshutem Rd., Fairfield Twp., on Friday July 12th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
