Charles F. Depriest, 87, of Fortescue died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Maurice House in Millville under the care of Hospice following a brief illness. A Fortescue resident for 27 years, he was born in Hot Springs, VA on October 20, 1925 to the late Fredrick Depriest and Susan Pritt Depriest and was the husband of the late Tessya "Anne" Parnell Depriest. He had been a Marlton resident prior to moving to Fortescue. Before retirement, Mr. Depriest was a Master Electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electricians in DE. He was also a member of Union Local 351 International and the NEBF in VA. He had served as president of the Fortescue Anglers Association and had also been a member of the Fortescue Fire Department. He also attended Fortescue Chapel and was an avid fisherman and gardner. He loved his dogs and spending time at the Post Office in Fortescue. Surviving are three daughters, Patricia A. DuBois of Millville, Linda S. Robison and her husband John of Fortescue and Barbara A. Daily and her husband John of Gloucester City along with 5 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Thursday, October 3rd at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Newport Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mr. Depriest's memory be made to the Fortescue Chapel, New Jersey Avenue, Fortescue, NJ 08321.
