Obituary of William E. Knipe

William "Bill" Knipe, 70, of Newport passed away in his home on Sunday, November 10, 2013 with his family by his side. Bill was a proud member of the United States Navy. While stationed on the USS Hunley in Scottland, he met Louise, his wife and best friend of 50 years. Together they raised their children; Marion (Cliff Higbee), Danine (Mike Freeman), Billy (Sue Knipe), Nancy (Kurt Silvers) and Jacky. A true family man, he enjoyed his time with his grandchildren; Christina (Jason Smith), Daneen (Ted Spitaletto), Jake, Sean, and his dad Bill Connors, Cierra, Jenna, Jonathan, Cameron, Anna, Allie, Joel and Matthew and his great-grandchildren; Hayden, Hayley and MareeRose. He was the son of Bill Knipe and Martha (Batten) Gandy, the brother of Sandra (Ray Ayars) and Jimmy (Sharon Knipe) and christian brother of Billy and Tina Gale. Bill faithfully attended Open Bible Baptist Church serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Bill was a hard worker employed by Owens Illinois Glass in Bridgeton, Kontes Glass in Vineland, Leone Glass in Bridgeton and retired from Wheaton Industries in Millville. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77 on Friday, November 15th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Newport Baptist Cemetery in Newport. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 14th from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday morning November 15th from 10 to 11 AM.
