George L. Herscher, Jr., 33, of Monroeville, died at his home on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. He was born in Woodbury and was the son of George L. Herscher, Sr. of Vineland and Judy Price Thompson of Upper Deerfield Township. He had been a lifetime resident of the Monroeville area. George had formerly been employed as a consumer with Ark of Salem County. He was a graduate of Regional Day School in 2001. Besides his parents, survivors include: two brothers, Kenneth Simmerman, Upper Deerfield and Ethan Herscher, Vineland; two sisters, Melissa Simmerman, Upper Deerfield and Katelynn Herscher, Vineland; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Blanche Price, Monroeville; paternal grandparents, David and Sandra Herscher, Woodstown; god parents, Alfred and Cheryl DiFilippantonio, Lower Alloways Creek; special cousin, Wendy Lucas and her husband Sean and their children, Chyene and Ethan and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday, Dec. 2, at 12:00 O'clock noon. Burial will be in Centerton Free Will Baptist Cemetery, Pittsgrove Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning between 10:00 and 12:00 O'clock, prior to the services.
