Obituary of Arthur R. Ransom

Arthur Raymond Ransom, 90, of Justamere Farm, Newport peacefully went home to be with his Lord on March 15, 2014; veteran of World War II, beloved husband for 66 years of Hazel Bradford Ransom and cherished Daddy of Linda R. Glassner of OH (Geoffrey) and Jill L. Ransom of Newport, proud grandfather of Scott M. Anderson of TX (Jennifer) and Philip J. Glassner of OH and great-grandfather of Sean Michael Anderson and Luke Bradley Anderson, son of the late Raymond and Elma Hankins Ransom and step-son of the late Alfred Blizzard, dear brother of Ralph (the late Carolyn and the late Joan) Ransom, Jessie Sipps (Harold) and Barbara White (the late John). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and former son-in-law, Gary Anderson. Arthur was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ryan James Anderson. Funeral services will be held at Newport Baptist Church, 319 Baptist Rd., Newport on Saturday, March 22nd at 11 AM with Chaplain Frank Green of Fortescue officiating. Interment will take place at Newport Baptist Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, March 21st at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville from 6 PM to 9 PM. Donations in Mr. Ransom's memory can be made to the Veterans Memorial Home, 524 N.W. Boulevard Vineland, NJ 08360 or to an organization of your choice in Arthur's name.
