Laura L. Chann, 51, of Vineland died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Leisure Chateau Care Center in Lakewood following five years of declining health. A lifetime Vineland resident, Laura was born in East Orange and was the daughter of Clark Talmaege Teel and Mary Louise Pruette Teel and was the wife of Kenneth A. Chann. Mrs. Chann had been employed with the Vineland Board of Education as a Teachers Aide for 18 years working with and caring for many special needs children. An actively involved and loving mother, she was a former president of the Vineland Regional Dance Company Guild, former vice president of the Newfield Swim Club and a former president of the Vineland High School Marching Band “Band Aides”. In addition to her husband Ken, she is survived by her daughter, Rosalia “Lia” Chann of New York City; her son, Kenneth “K.C.” Chann, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; her mother in law, Rosalia “Liz” Chann of Upper Deerfield Twp.; a sister, Ann Wharton (Tom) of VA and a brother, Jerry Teel of CA. She was predeceased by a brother, Tom Teel. Private visitation and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
