Obituary of Leroy V. Murray
Leroy “Mr. Lee” Murray, died on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at AtlanticCare in Atlantic City following injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Bridgeton to the late John C. Murray and Mae G. Weeks, he was the husband of Mary A. Knipe. Leroy had been a Bridgeton area resident his whole life.
Prior to his injury, Leroy had driven buses for Sheppard Bus Service for the past seven years. Before that, he had been self-employed as a carpenter for Lee’s Carpentry in the Bridgeton area for over 25 years. Leroy had been a member of the Eagles Club in Bridgeton and the American Legion Shoemaker Post 95 in Bridgeton. In his free time, Leroy enjoyed fishing, walks in the park and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by; his wife, Mary A. Knipe of Bridgeton; two sons, Neil Murray and his wife, Kathie of Upper Deerfield and Dan Murray and his wife, Samantha of South Daytona, FL; three grandchildren; Miranda, Collin and Madeline and a brother-in-law, Donald Dayton of Bridgeton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Dayton.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, October 14th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the services.
