Obituary of Robert F. Mathis

Robert F. Mathis, 77, of Hopewell Twp., died on Monday morning, December 1, 2014 at Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. The husband of Joan Lacotte Mathis, he was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Don and Rose (Travaline) Mathis. Until his retirement on disability in 1995, he was an electrician at General Machine Division of Wheaton Industries. Bob enjoyed playing cards and finding new places to eat. He had belonged to several camping clubs and enjoyed going to camp-outs and rallies in their motor home. Many winters were spent in Punta Gorda, FL and also at the Masonic Park in Wimauma, FL. He was a member of Evening Star Lodge #97. In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by his daughters, Christianna Johnson (Sean) of Long Pond, PA and Laura Lynn Coleman (Tim) of Hopewell Twp.; a sister, Delores Rice (Loyce) and four grandchildren, Justin Johnson and Chris, Jenn and Mike Comer. He was preceded in death by a wife, Beverly Miller Mathis and two sisters, Joanne Garrison and Mary Ann Overstreet. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, December 4th at 9 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. A visitation with will be held from 8 AM to 9 AM prior to the services at the funeral home.
