Obituary of John W. Thomas

John W. Thomas, III, 72, of Bridgeton died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. A Bridgeton resident for the past 17 years, he was born in Cogdell, GA and was the son of the late Richard McRae and Omezell Haynes. He had previously lived in both Millville and Newport also. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served his country in the United States Air Force. He had been employed with Wheaton Glass Company in Millville prior to his retirement due to disability and had also been a local agent for the Progressive Life Insurance Company. He attended both St. John Pentecostal Church in Cedarville and In His Presence Worship Center in Millville. Surviving are his wife, Terri Badger of Bridgeton; 10 children, John W. Thomas, IV of Vineland, Julia Jones of Upper Deerfield Twp., Herbert Thomas of GA, Angel Thomas-Rodriguez of MO, Christopher Thomas-Rodriguez of MO, Ta’Mark J. Thomas and Brian Rahn both of Bridgeton and Ryan Thomas, Kim McCoy and Chouncee Foxx all of VA, two step daughters, Le’Tisha Badger of Millville and April Badger of Bridgeton; five brothers, Robert L. McRae of Richland, Willie L. McRae of Bridgeton, Eugene McRae of Paulsboro, Roosevelt McRae of FL and Cherylton McRae of NC; three sisters, Alberta McRae of FL, Debra McRae of AL and Shirley Manning of FL and 16 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joy Thomas, two brothers, Eulis C. Thomas and Richard McRae, Jr. and two sisters, Evelyn McNiar and Norma Gail McRae. Funeral services will be held at In His Presence Worship Center, 2 Hillcrest Avenue, Millville on Thursday, March 12th at 1PM. Friends will be received at the church from 12 to 1 PM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp.
