Obituary of Sharon L. Meehan

Sharon L. Meehan, 68, of Hopewell Twp. died on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Megan, in Zebulon, NC. Born in Bridgeton to the late Robert I. Opperman and Lena Young Opperman, she was the wife of the late Michael J. Meehan. Sharon was a Hopewell Twp. resident most of her life. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a medical secretary with Dr. John DeLeonardis in Upper Deerfield Twp. and prior to that with Dr. Jerome Fishman and Dr. Scott Fishman in Bridgeton. She had been a member of West Park United Methodist Church in Hopewell Twp. since 1972. Sharon was a beloved and devoted mother and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and her grandchildren. Surviving are her two daughters, Michelle L. Meehan (Michelle Hofflinger) of Vineland and Megan Meehan-Rainear and her husband Kevin of NC; two brothers, Robert I. Opperman, Jr. of Bridgeton and Keith Opperman of Bridgeton and four grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Nathan and Ellie all of NC. Funeral services will be held at West Park United Methodist Church, 625 Shiloh Pike, Hopewell Twp. on Wednesday, June 17th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 to 10 AM prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations can be made in Sharon’s memory to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360.
