To My beloved family,
I really don't know what to say. Grandma going has devastated me and Theresa. Grandma was always there and willing to listen, joke, laugh and now that she's gone a void sits in our hearts. The thing I remember most is that she loved to have family come and visit. It didn't make a difference if it was for a couple of minutes, a few hours, or days as long as the family showed up because it made her happy.
Grandma always spoke to us about how the family doesn't visit like they used to and that it would be great if they did. She felt as though the family has drifted apart especially after great grandma's passing.
For us, now is not a time to lose side of what is still important; not just for us but for the whole family. Keeping the family together would put a smile on her face. We all have our own lives to live but what is a life when family doesn't come together?. For grandma, family was everything so lets try harder to not lose that.
Her door was open to everyone at any time of day/night. Whether we talked, watched T.V., played cards or just sat there with her in silence unless the phone rang.
The hardest part is grandma not being an ear to our problems, comfort when needed, a laugh or to now and then when our lives have prevented smiles and an open door when all doors seem closed. We Love you Grandma and we hope you're up in heaven happy and pain-free. We'll see you again one day and on that day we'll tell you all about it.
