Obituary of Gloria H. Schilling

Gloria Hope Schilling (nee Wood), 88 passed away on August 8th surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home in Upper Deerfield, NJ. Survived by her husband of 69 years –Fred Schilling, three children – Pat and Karl Goebel of Upper Deerfield, Linda and Bob Tedder of Yardville and Ron and Deb Schilling of Waterford, WI. She loved and was so proud of her five grandchildren (Lori, Jimmy, Julie, Mark, Elizabeth), seven great grandchildren (Brandon, Aaron, Chloe, Jared, Caleb, Kylie, Ella) and one great great granddaughter (Ava). In addition to many extended family members and loving friends. Gloria was born in Trenton, NJ, raised her family in Crosswicks, NJ and enjoyed retirement in South Jersey. She worked in the Social Services department at the Garden State Youth Correction Facility for many years. Gloria lovingly known as "G" or "Mommom" will forever be remembered by her family for her incredibly generous and caring presence and her faith (and her love of chocolate.) She enjoyed reading, listening to Elvis and watching the Phillies. Shopping and going to lunch with her girls was one of her most favorite things to do. Mostly though, she loved to be with her family and she spent many summers at the shore in LBI and Townsend Inlet. She loved taking walks on the beach and collecting seashells noticing that no two are alike. "The best listener in the World" Gloria was always asking others to "tell me something…" and often could be heard remarking "unbelievable" at the wonders of life. She will be forever loved and missed by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or Making Strides Against Breast Cancer as Gloria was a breast cancer survivor. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Bridgeton, NJ on Thursday August 13th at 12:30 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the services.
