Obituary of Jerome L. Langley

Jerome L. Langley, 76, of Millville died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home under the care of Hospice.
Jerome was born in Baltimore, MD and had been a resident of Millville for the past 14 years. Prior to that, he had lived in Port Norris. He was the husband of the late Delores Jenkins Langley, the late Dorothea Wainwright Langley and the late Laura Livingston Langley. He was adopted and raised by the late Annie Mae Gibbs Langley and Lafayette Langley.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with several different seafood companies including LaMonica Seafood in Cape May. He had been an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris where he served as a deacon, usher and a member the Methodist Men’s Singing Group. He was also a member of the South Jersey Community Men’s Gospel Choir.
Jerome is survived by two sons, Jerome Langley, Jr. of Millville and Byron Forman of Port Norris; five daughters, Christine Walker of Philadelphia, Delores Armstead of Millville, Evelyn Baldwin of Philadelphia, Lynell Bains of Millville and Carla Langley of Millville; two step-sons, Howard Livingston of Cape May and Jamie Livingston, Sr. of Vineland; two step-daughters, Penny Shabazz of Millville and Beverly Livingston of Millville; a brother, Melvin Travers of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Mildred Jeter of Baltimore, MD, Romenia Douglas of Philadelphia, PA and Patricia Lankford- Douglas of MD and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his late wives, Delores, Dorothea and Laura, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Langley; a daughter, Jewell Langley; a step-daughter, Deborah Langley-Wright and a step-son, Gary Livingston.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19th at 12 Noon at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Ogden Ave., Port Norris. Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp.
