Obituary of Dennis D. Sorantino

Dennis D. "Danny" Sorantino, Jr., age 77, of Cedarville died suddenly on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at home. He was born in Bridgeton on October 8, 1934 to the late Dennis Sorantino and Florence Kenelia Sorantino and was a lifetime Cedarville resident. For many years, Danny had worked at Cedarbrook Farms which was established by his late father. He then went on to co-own and operate Sorantino Farms Inc. with his brother. He retired from the farming business in 1998. Danny was owner and president of the Short Horn Gun Club and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed raising and training beagles, hunting and fishing. In earlier years he was a State Champion Trap shooter and won numerous awards. He survived by his wife of 55 years, Julia (nee Ruggeri) Sorantino; three daughters, Denise Larro (Barry) of Cedarville, Julia Cardia (Michael) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Diane M. Sorantino (Heather) of Cape May; a grandson, Barry Dennis Larro; granddaughters, Nicole Larro, Lauren Cardia and Lisa Cardia; a brother, Joseph Sorantino (Clarissa) of Cedarville and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Parrish of the Holy Cross, St. Michael's Church, 367 Main Street, Cedarville on Wednesday, March 7th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Danny's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
