Obituary of David Rick Staples

David “Rick” Staples, 65, of Bridgeton died on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the home of his sister, Diane Caine where he was staying during his recent illness. He was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia to the late David C. Staples and Margaret Gwinn Staples. Rick spent many years of his childhood in Barberton, OH and had been a resident of Bridgeton for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as the field maintenance supervisor for the sports fields at Schalick High School for 10 years. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman and football fan. His favorite team was the Ohio State Buckeyes. Rick was also a music lover and enjoyed playing the guitar. He is survived by a son, Zachary C. Staples (Jennifer) of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Amanda Anania of Towanda, PA; two sisters, Diane Caine (Wendy Livingston) of Cape May Court House and Sandra McDowell of Walkertown, NC; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service, 29 West Commerce Street, Bridgeton on Saturday, April 30th at 12 Noon.
