William H. Scott, Sr., 74, of Fairfield Twp. departed this life on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland following a lengthily illness.
The son of the late George and Adabelle Scott, he was born in Aiken, SC on May 2, 1941. The husband of Beatrice Tucker Scott he had been a Bridgeton area resident for 60 years and had lived in SC prior to that. He was affectionately known as “Billy” and “Scotty”.
Prior to becoming permanently disabled, he worked at the P. J. Ritter Company, Dick’s Bar and in the Bridgeton Public School System. He was a devoted member of the Bridgeton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A devoted family man, he enjoyed travelling to see his family and he loved his grandchildren that were the joys of his life.
In addition to his loving wife Beatrice, he will be sadly missed by his daughter, Donna; his four sons, Billy, Jr., Darren (Sharon), Christopher (Rita) and Rayford; seven grandchildren, Keith, Donielle, Ray Ray, Crystal, Christopher, Jr., Darren, Jr. and Briana; two sisters, Anne Dawson (Ray), Betty Corley (Louis); two brothers, George Barton (Elizabeth) and Harold Scott (Rose) and six stepdaughters, Barbara Ziegler, Dottie Tucker, Tina Tucker, Rosemary Green, Debbie Morris and Cheryl Ware.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, April 29th at 12 Noon. Friends will be received from 10 AM to12 Noon prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
