Obituary of Hazel Lena Massey

Hazel Lena Massey, 86, of Hopewell Township passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at her home under the care of family and hospice. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas O. Leek and Hazel Surran Leek and the wife of the late William A. Massey. She had been a Hopewell Township resident for 53 years and had lived in Bridgeton prior to that. Before her retirement, Lena had been employed as a cook in the dietary department at Cumberland Manor for over 25 years. She had also been a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles-Bridgeton Airy. She is survived by her son, Joseph Hayes (Michelle) of Hopewell Township and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three daughters, Joann Harvey, Betty Sawyer and Susan Diaz and three brothers, Charles Leek, Bill Leek and Tom Leek. Private graveside services will be held at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township where the interment will follow the services.
