Floyd “Butch” C. White Jr., 59, of Lawrence Twp. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday morning, March 2, 2024, to be with his son Brandon.
Born in Bridgeton to Floyd C. White Jr. and Bertha Riley White, he had been the fiancé of Debi Lupton for the last eight years. Butch had been a Lawrence Twp. resident all his life.
Butch retired from Rossi Honda after over 20 years and had worked for Honda collectively for over 30 years. He held many certifications in mechanics. Prior to working as a mechanic, he spent many years farming on his family farm, Hilltop Farm, and as a teenager on Sorantino Farms in Cedarville. Most recently he, his parents, and his fiancé had been running a country farm stand which had become popular with local neighbors.
He had been a proud member of the Double Oaks Gunning Club in Cedarville, serving as bar manager for many years. Butch was known for the many delicious Friday night meals he would provide at the club.
Butch believed that weekends were for relaxing, cooking, eating, and making memories with friends and family. Butch was known for his cooking, especially his crabs when in season. He loved animals, especially his dogs, Sadie, Dash, Shadow (Boo), and his cat, Itty Bitty. Butch also had an affection for horses and had bred and raised miniatures with his fiancé for the last seven years. In his free time, he also enjoyed boating and fishing with friends at Bay Point.
He will be remembered for being a kind, funny and generous friend along with being quick-witted and clever, always having a comeback. He was always there to lift a helping hand as the family mechanic.
He is survived by; his cherished parents, Floyd and Bertha White; his beloved granddaughter, Kaileigh; his devoted fiancé, Debi Lupton; and many friends. He was preceded in death by; his beloved son, Brandon “BJ” J. White; his loving paternal grandparents, Clarence and Doris Davis; and maternal grandparents, Elmer and Ida Riley.
