Obituary of Joyce Hitchner

Joyce Hitchner, age 87 of Fairfield Township passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the home of her daughter, Brenda under the care of hospice and family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the wife of the late Ronald Shimp Hitchner, Jr. who passed in November of 2019. She was the daughter of the late Louis Klampfer and Margaret Gray Klampfer and had been a resident of Fairfield Township since she was seven years old. Prior to her retirement, Joyce had been employed with the Cumberland County Clerk’s Office in Bridgeton for 20 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and her time spent at the Downe Township Senior Center. Joyce is survived by her children, Brenda Baxter of Fairton and Scott Hitchner and his wife, Rhonda of Mays Landing; four grandchildren, Edward Strockbine, Jr. (Meghan), Eric Hitchner (Samantha), Nicole Hitchner and Cody Baxter; three great-grandchildren, Logan Hitchner, Rhys Hitchner, Elliott Strockbine and Luna Hitchner, due in August along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Loretta Salvatore and her brother, Louis Klampfer. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
