Obituary of David W. Sutton

David W. Sutton, 57, of Greenwich, died unexpectedly following complications of pneumonia at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
Born in Bridgeton to Virginia Caine Sutton, he was the fiance of Bonnie Bennett. He had been a resident of Greenwich for the past three years and prior to that he had lived in Upper Deerfield Twp. for most of his life.
Dave had been employed by Durand Glass Co. in Millville for 20 years as an electrotechnician. Before that he had worked at Wheaton Plastics in Millville for 10 years and M.C. Shranks in Bridgeton. Throughout his working life, Dave had also worked as security for the Bridgewater Pub, the Toadfish, Sidelines, the Towne Tavern and other local establishments.
Dave was a Harley Davidson enthusiast who lived to ride. His riding group is known as “The Forsaken Souls”. He was a member of the Bridgeton VFW and the Eagles Club in Bridgeton. Dave was a die-hard fan of the New Orleans Saints. Dave was a gentle giant who was beloved by his sisters, mother and family. His favorite things were taking in the sunsets with Bonnie, making mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner with family and Myrtle Beach bike week.
Dave is survived by; his mother Virginia Caine Sutton of Vineland; his fiance, Bonnie Bennett “My Huckleberry” of Greenwich, his sisters, Marie Sutton of Vineland, Bobbi Raines and her fiance Jim Simoni of Vineland and Kimberly Chambers and her husband Joe of Dennisville; his son David Sutton, II and his wife Lauren of PA; four step-children, Philip Travis and his wife Julie, Joshua Travis and his wife Hailey, Kristi Lacy and John Lacy and his wife Juanita; two god-daughters, Andrea (Bryant) Maldonado and Jennie Fote; six granchildren; his dogs, Cuda, Lucky and Gabby; his cat, Buckethead; his Parrot, Thor and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Sutton.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, January 27th at 1 PM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Friendship Finley Methodist Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 1 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of his son, Christopher.
